How your license works

Each Living Word drive carries its own license. It lets you use Living Word on two computers, or three if you choose that when you order.

Two or three computers per drive

The license lives on the drive itself, not on a computer. The first computers you use Living Word on are remembered automatically, up to your limit of two (or three). You don't need to type a code or go online. After that, the drive keeps working on those computers, and any other computer shows a message saying the limit has been reached.

A Windows PC and a Mac each count as one computer. The same license covers both versions on your drive.

Keep Living Word on its drive

Always run Living Word from the drive it came on. If you copy it onto a computer, the copy keeps its own separate count and your notes won't be saved to your drive.

Replacing a computer

If one of your computers is retired or replaced, we'll reset your license so the new computer can take its place. There's no charge for one reset every 12 months.

To ask for a reset, contact us from the email address you ordered with, and include your license ID. We'll email you an updated license file with simple steps for putting it on your drive.

If you need another reset within 12 months of your last one, or want to use Living Word on an additional computer, you'll need another drive at $50.00.

Finding your license ID

Your license ID starts with LW- followed by eight letters and numbers, for example LW-3F9A21C0.

Want a third computer?

When you order, you can choose three computers instead of two for $30.00 more per drive. Your drive arrives ready for all three.

This is only available when you buy your drive. The computer limit can't be raised after your order. To use Living Word on another computer later, you would need to buy another drive at $50.00, so if you think you'll use three computers, choose it when you order.
